KIPP Stand Academy: Now Enrolling 5th and 6th Graders!
Located in Minneapolis, KIPP Stand Academy is the first free, open-enrollment public school to open in the KIPP Minnesota region. At KIPP Stand, our goals are to provide our students with the necessary academic skills to put them on a path to college; help students define what they stand for; and instill in them the school’s values of integrity, self-awareness, grit, pride, and fun. In the 2009-10 school year, KIPP Stand Academy will be accepting applications for 5th and 6th grade.

KIPP Minnesota: The Region
KIPP Minnesota will build and support a family of free, open-enrollment, college-prep schools in Minnesota that prepare educationally underserved students to find success in college and in life. The KIPP Minnesota region will eventually comprise several public schools in high-need communities surrounding the twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. KIPP Stand Academy is the first school in the KIPP Minnesota region.
KIPP: The Knowledge is Power Program
KIPP Minnesota and its flagship school, KIPP Stand Academy, are based on the success of the KIPP network of 57 schools in 17 states and the District of Columbia. Exceptional instruction, more time on task, and high expectations for behavior and academic achievement have enabled KIPP students to achieve remarkable results. More than 80 percent of KIPP students have gone on to college. KIPP continues to receive national recognition for its success, and has been featured on ABC World News, 60 Minutes, PBS, and Oprah Winfrey, as well as in The New York Times, Washington Post, USA Today, and Newsweek.
