Team and Family Spotlight - June

This month, KIPP Minnesota alumni graduated from high schools around the Twin Cities, the state of Minnesota, and the country! Among the graduates are future computer scientists, nurses, medical receptionists, teachers, and more, enrolled at schools around the country including Augsburg University, Minneapolis College, University of Minnesota, and Fort Valley State University!

All college-bound alumni will begin their fall semesters with a stronger sense of what to expect of classes, expenses, and campus life, in part thanks to our KIPP Through College & Career program. Our KTC&C program believes that every student deserves to have the opportunity to attend and complete college, so we make sure that all KIPP MN alumni have the supports to do so.

KTC&C starts supporting students in middle school, providing them with information about high-performing high schools and helping them apply. Some students move to other states after middle school or during high school, to other parts of the state or country, but our KTC&C team stays in contact with them no matter where they live.

Then in high school, students work with their KTC&C adviser to create a college wish list, stay in check with their goals, take the ACT, and then apply to colleges and universities. And while in college, students are supported by a persistence adviser who helps them navigate any financial, social, and educational challenges they may encounter. KTC&C also supports alumni who decide that college is not the pathway they feel is best fit for them. Pathways such as trade, vocational, job training, and several other options are also shared with alumni.

Whether they are joining the military, going to college, or entering the workforce, KIPP MN and KTC&C are so proud to support these rising stars on their education and career journeys! See the photos below to learn more about some of our alumni and their post-graduation plans!
