Our StudentsWho Our Students AreKIPP: Stand Academy serves students in 5th - 8th grade in Minneapolis and surrounding areas. The zip codes we primarily represent include 55411, 55412 and 55407. Ninety-eight percent of our students are of color of which ninety-two percent are African Americans. Ninety-two percent of our students receive federal lunch aid of which eighty-seven percent qualify for free lunch. KIPP: Stand Academy graduated our very first class of eighth graders in June of 2012. We call the the Class of 2016, as that is when they will enter college. These students started KIPP in 5th or 6th grade, far behind their more affluent peers in Minnesota, and sadly, behind most of their demographic peers nation-wide.
