As we celebrate the on-going, living breathing story and culture that continuously shapes our Black community, we welcome our KIPP MN team, students, and families to our Annual Black History Month Celebration & Annual Meeting on Thursday, February 26th as we come together to celebrate the rich heritage and culture woven into our community. Join us for an evening of soul food, inspirational speaking, and student performances showcasing our student’s talents and culture.
Black History Month Celebration Details
Date: Thursday, February 26th
Time: 5:00-6:30pm
Location: KIPP North Star
Student Permission: Students have the option to stay after school on Thursday, February 26th to attend the Black History Month Celebration. There will be student activities and rehearsal time from 4:00-5:00pm. Students can only stay for the event if their family is planning to attend. Please complete the following RSVP and Student Permission Slip by Monday, February 23rd if you plan to attend.
Free Food Bags: Thanks to our community partner Every Meal, there will be free food bags at the Black History Month Celebration that families can collect. It will be on a first come, first served basis.
FREE Spring Dental Clinic: In partnership with Ready, Set, Smile there will be a FREE Spring Dental Clinic on campus for our KIPP MN students on May 4th & 5th. Families can register for this FREE service by completing registration forms available at our Black History Month Celebration.
Student Rehearsals: Students who completed the sign up form to perform for the Black History Month Celebration should be ready for rehearsals for the following days:
